In the heart of the most beautiful Apulia, in the Itria Valley, at Salento gateway, surrounded by scents and luxuriant nature, stands the refined Leonardo Trulli Resort.

Here, not far from the charming Locorotondo, it will be possible to experience true wellness and relax. Born from the love and respect that Rosalba Cardone enhances for her Leonardo ancestor, this place speaks the universal language of true hospitality, built around the scrupulous care of details and attention to the traditions of a unique location.

Made of smooth, honeyed stone, the Trulli and commerce now enjoy a new lease of life as a fleet of suites, with modern furniture and luxury touches. Sleep under the grand arches of the ancient buildings, wake to an amazing breakfast of Italian cakes and pastries, slip into the warm salty waters of the swimming pool and inhale the scent of summer in the Valle d’Itria. There’s a restaurant where you can sample traditional Apulian cuisine and bikes for exploring the local area.

Located in the Valle d’Itria, which is one of the prettiest areas of Puglia, (the sun-splashed heel of the Italian boot), this villa is surrounded by olive groves, ancient fortified farms, and whitewashed towns spilling down the rolling hills towards vineyards and orchards. Outside there is a pool and an organic garden where fruit and vegetables are grown for the restaurant. It’s a stylish slice of rural Italian life, a place to savor simple delights: dappled sunlight on your skin, a poolside siesta in the shade of a prickly-pear tree, a glass of local wine at sunset, and the chatter of birds from the hotel’s surrounding estate.

SURROUNDING AREA

Our day trips will allow us to experience the many unique landscapes and activities that this area has to offer. We will have a walking meditation in the area, visiting the beautiful town of Locorotondo.

You can also choose to join our day tour through Puglia's famous "Trulli" (white, cone-shaped houses) in the town of Alberobello, a UNESCO heritage site where the main concentration of this trulli still stand. We'll enjoy a walk around town, and shome time for shopping. Next, we will visit one of the area’s most picturesque towns, with plenty of photo-worthy vistas and blue waters, followed by an amazing unique meal in a "grotto" overlooking the cliffs by the sea in Polignano al Mare.

You can also visit the marvelous underground world of the caves in Castellana Grotte, Martina Franca which is rich in artistic treasures, the sandy beaches on the Adriatic coast and then the unspoiled nature all around, you can explore it by walking or cycling through olive trees, vineyards and fruit trees of all kind.

You can also enjoy massage treatments and plenty of time to relax at our home-away-from-home, with its beautiful pool, spa, walking trails, and more.

CUISINE

Healthfu food is part of the retreat experience. A rich breakfast buffet includes organic products, tarts and delicious homemade biscotti, as well as yogurt, jams and fruit and also healthy shakes. For lovers of salty breakfast there is plenty of fresh local cheese, fresh eggs and cold cuts.

On-site, you may choose to dine in the restaurant, ArteCibo, which offers a modern take on the local food, based on traditional cooking methods and full creativity of the AMAZING chef Francesco Cataldi. Using the vegetables grown in the same gardens of the resort and seasonal products, freshly prepared every day and accompanied by excellent Apulian wines.

Optional: A cooking class with the chef Francesco Cataldi. Wine tasting with intresting information about the history of the wines in this area. Also, you can choose to dine in the world-famous Grotta, which is said to be one of the most beautiful restaurant settings in the world.

YOGA, YOGAART & DANCE

Daily meditation and yoga with sound bath healing and head massage with pure essential oils, Sunrise walking meditation, Special YogaArt class, free movement / dance class, fire ceremony, traditional Chinese tea ceremony will be offered in a way to relax, stimulate, and help guests grow in their own personal practice. Classes are open to all levels.

Yoga Art- chosen as one of the 6 wellness retreat trends to try in 2023. This workshop includes covering your body in paint while moving through your asanas on a Canvas and creating art while doing so and also being your own masterpiece. It feels amazing, and sensual, encourages playfulness, and connects to your second chakra and your inner child.

* Style and class levels will be determined and moulded to fit participating students' needs, and with a small intimate retreat class size, students will be able to get personalized attention and comfortability to deeply explore their practice.

Classes will be held in a dedicated indoor yoga space and some also offer outdoor options as well for us to use if the weather is agreeable. Classes are generally held twice daily.

Private spa wtih Biosauna, emotional shower, Turkish bath and whirlpool. The Spa is designed for couples, therefore in maximum privacy and confidentiality. The water in the Jacuzzi with magnesium. It is a natural substitute alternative to chlorine. Magnesium salts have a beneficial and relaxing effect on the skin, which soothes pain and contributes to muscle relaxation.
